Assessing Preservice Teachers' Zones of Concern and Comfort with Multicultural Education
Examined preservice teachers' concerns and comfort with concepts and practices advocated as approaches to multicultural education. Data from surveys conducted at different points throughout a cultural-awareness course indicated that students believed in the need for multicultural education but differed greatly regarding choices for preferred approaches to multicultural education. Students' attitudes were formed before completing any substantive coursework. (SM)
