Head start children finishing first grade: Preliminary data on school identification of children at risk for special education

A study investigated identification rates of children at risk for special education among U.S. Project Head Start children completing first grade. Data were obtained from a sample of 4,161 students across 30 sites who were followed from kindergarten through first grade.
